I think our honeyberry bushes are getting confused by the <12hr a day sunlight and warm temperatures … we’re getting flowers?! Picked them off so the plant wasn’t wasting energy.
I got our autumn orchard planting done — we’ve got ten blueberries, three seaberries, and three honey berries ready to start growing next year. We’ve got another month or so of not-yet-freezing weather; hopefully the plants have enough time to get their roots set in the ground.
We should finally be past freezing nights for the season, so it’s time to get the fruit plants out in the orchard. I’ve got a couple of gooseberries and a hardy fig to put somewhere. But, in the next few days, I’ll get the currants, honey berries, seaberries, pawpaw, and cherry trees planted.
